Mapakin lets you organize bookmarks, images, files and notes on a visual map. This policy explains what data we handle and why.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your basic Google profile (name and email). We never receive your Google password.
• Content you create: the blocks on your maps (links, titles, notes, positions) and the images, PDFs and files you upload.
• Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) generated when you use the service.

2. How we use it

• To provide the service: sign you in, save your maps and display them on your devices.
• To send sign-in emails (magic links).
• To keep the service secure and fix bugs.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Where your data is stored

Your account, maps and uploaded files are stored with our infrastructure provider Supabase. The static website is hosted by OVH. Authentication with Google is handled by Google under its own privacy policy.

4. Local storage on your device

Mapakin uses your browser's local storage (not advertising cookies) to keep your session and remember preferences such as the zoom level, grid and theme. No tracking or analytics cookies are used.

5. Local folder feature

If you open a local folder in Mapakin, its files are displayed in your browser only. They are not uploaded to our servers.

6. Sharing

We only share data with the service providers listed above, strictly to operate Mapakin, or when required by law.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep your data as long as your account exists. You can delete your blocks at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and all associated data by emailing us.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise these rights, contact us.

9. Children

Mapakin is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The date above shows the latest revision.
